A trip to Irikkur River by the members of school nature club to know and feel the river and it`s culture and nature.Fiftyfive students and several teachers participated in the dawn to dusk programme.Environmentalist Sri.V.C.Balakrishnan from SEEK conducted classes and imparted field knowledge about plants,animals ,river and it`s importance.
Three day nature education camp at school organised by school nature club.Thirty five students from school nature club and twenty students from nearby schools participated.It`s for the third consecutive year the school is hosting such an event.Eminent environmentalists including Sri.C.Visalakshan (one earth one life) Sri.V.C .Balakrishnan (SEEK), Sri.C.Sasikumar(Ornithologist-Malabar Natural History Society) Sri.N Satheesan, Sri.T V balakrishnan led the classes,demonstrations and field trips.Nature club`s blogsite www.ilappacha.blogspot.com was officially launched by Sub inspector of Police,Irikkur Sri.Ramesan in the closing ceremony of the camp.
AEROBICS TRAINING FOR GIRLS
Selected students were given training in aerobics for thirty days.The programme was formally inaugurated by Block Programme Officer ,Sarva Siksha Abhiyan Sri.P.Sasidharan on january first 2009.The programme is aided and funded by SSA.
A trip to St.Angeolse Fort,Kannur by the members of CCRT Club of the school .The CCRT club is functioning under Ministry of Cultural Resources,New Delhi and it is the only club of this kind in Kannur educational district.The members also visited Arakkal Palace, the palace of Arakkal dynasty- the only muslim dynasty in kerala
WORKSHOP ON FOLK SONGS AND FOLK TRADITION
A work shop on folksong was held at school.It was organised by CCRT Cultural Club.Folklorists Sri.K .Ramachandran and Sri.Balan master demonstrated and conducted the classes.
MORNING AND EVENING CLASSES FOR SSLC STUDENTS
From january one onwards special morning and evening classes have begun.In order to better the standard of education and sslc results classes begin at 8 am and it continues after 3.30 pm to 5.30pm.Students are given refreshments in the morning and evening.
